LEGISLATIVE UPDATES

The Legislature is still on break returning July 31^st.  They should not go Sine Die.  Senate does not want to, but the House does.  Mixed feelings on this one.  But, the Governor has some things up her sleeve, and the Legislature must be open to respond to the States needs.  We shall find out in one week.

In the meantime, the Veto Queen added more to her Vetoes.  With no Bills left on her desk, she managed to sign 33 Bills of the 65 bringing her grand total of signed Bills to: 203 signed Bills.

The Veto Queen also managed to increase her vetoes by another 32 Bills this week, bringing her grand total of vetoed Bills to:  163 Vetoes!

One more Resolution was added going directly to the Secretary of State.  We now have 31 Resolutions total.

All three of the above Signed and Vetoed Bills, as well as the Resolutions are listed below, and in more detail on the attached listing.

NEWS

As I mentioned last week in the Legislative Updates, LD2’s, Senator Steve Kaiser has turned in his resignation from the Senate, effective June 22, 2023.  Three people from his District will be nominated on June 26^th at the LD2 meeting.  Those names will then be turned into the Board of Supervisors for the decision on the new Legislator taking Kaiser’s place.  As a member of LD2, I will keep everyone apprised of each step along the way.

I am running in LD2 in that nomination process for the Senate position.

One thing that should be discussed now is, I am starting, and truly should have been a part of every LD, is a separate “CITIZEN LEGISLATOR’s” forum in every LD.

What does this mean?  Every Legislator in each District should be listening to each of their OWN constituents FIRST on Bills being introduced into the Legislature.  The legislators should also be questioning their constituents on what is IMPORTANT TO THEM.

At the same time, the constituents need to take an ACTIVE part in understanding and making their positions known to their legislators BEFORE a vote is taken on the Floor of the Legislature; NOT afterwards through complaints and criticisms of “Why didn’t you ask us first what WE thought?!”

I want to start an LD2 Citizen Legislator Forum, whether it be in a Town Hall, zoom call, LD meeting; or when I am appointed in the Legislature, in my office on Washington St.  My constituents are my lobbyists and WE WILL help create better and more effective legislation for our District and State.  We need to start now!

Folks, all Bills should be a Team Effort.  Each Legislator is NOT a Team of ONE.

Let’s protect our State Sovereignty; Let’s protect our Borders; Let’s protect our Elections; Let’s protect our CHILDREN; Let’s protect our Medical Freedoms; Let’s protect, preserve and strengthen our Country, before we completely lose her.

Please review Prop 400 (SB1246) which was vetoed.  There is a document attached to review.  Huge loss!

This Bill cannot be brought back as a Resolution.  It’s illegal because Resolutions from the Legislature have to be about statewide issues, not countywide ones.

Normally. an Initiative is considered to bring people on an issue.  A statewide voter initiative requires 10% of signatures from people who voted in the last gubernatorial election to put it on the ballot.  Since there were more than 2.5 million votes cast in the 2022 race, organizers would need to get 255,866 signatures.

Also, please review https://www.azleg.gov/legtext/56leg/1R/summary/H.SB1432_061923_TRANSMITTED.pdf which is SB1432, passed and signed by the Governor.  This was a really good start!* See,below at SB1432.  This Bill helps areas like Rio Verde.

CITIZEN LEGISLATOR 

I pretty much covered this in the NEWS above.  Let’s START working together.  I am 100% in favor of the Republican platform and will NEVER vote for anyone else.  Let me make that clear; but I do not agree with many Republicans who have lost their way in this culture.  They may have gone to the Independents or just given up hope.  We need them back to fight with the America First Constitutional Republicans.

Stop the in-fighting; and fight the REAL enemy in America.  That is my wish and hope for our Nation.

HOW TO CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATOR

The RTS (Request to Speak) system is a necessary component to our legislative process.  This is an excellent way to share your positions on a particular Bill and let your legislator know that you support his/her legislation.  Please review this site and make sure you know how to use it properly.  The legislators depend a lot on your opinions and this is where you share them.

Once again, as a gentle reminder to all of the people who just joined these updates, this is how to read the attachments.  All the Bills listed on the attachments are mostly ALL the Republican Introduced Bills.

The Bills highlighted in Green are the GOP Bills I monitor on a daily basis.  The Bills highlighted in Gray, are ones introduced by LD2 legislators, Senator Kaiser and Representative Wilmeth.

And, the Bills highlighted with yellow in the status and date columns, are noted for your review to see their progression in the legislative process.  All Bills are up to date through 6/16/23.

And yes, I did remove most all the Bills highlighted in Blue that were Democrat sponsored.  If the Bills were not moving out of Committee like the Republican sponsored Bills, they have been removed from the monitoring cycle.

Remember, each Bill Number listed is a link to the Bill itself and you can access the status, documents and Agenda’s by clicking onto the link.  Even though I monitor and keep track of the Bills daily, I only send out Updates on the weekends.  So, if you want daily updates on any Bill, just click onto the Bill Number, and go to Overview or Status, for real-time information.  Don’t forget, there is an attachment with the Abbreviations used in the legislature to make your reading easier to understand.
