Why does it take so long to count the Ballots?

The problem with the delayed count in ballots is related to those who walk in the mail-in ballots on Election Day.

There is a DIRECT correlation between the number of ballots that people delay returning and the late returns.

They are referred to as “LATE early” ballots.

There were over 120,000 of these in the 2022 election. It takes approximately 5 (five) business days to process these ballots.

The Recorders office cannot count them at the end of Election Day, these ballots begin the process the day after the election. There are approx. 7 steps the ballots go through before we get the results. This all takes a lot of time.

SOLUTION:  Mail your ballot early (at least 7 days before Election Day) or vote in person on Election Day!!!

Make Sure Your Ballot Gets Counted
