Scottsdale – MAG – Bus Rapid Transit Scheme is bad news for Scottsdale drivers

Scottsdale – Bus Rapid Transit B(BRT) would be bad news for Scottsdale Drivers.

BRT means Drivers lose traffic lanes to dedicated Bus Rapid Transit lanes.

Did you know that there is a scheme to add Bus Rapid Transit on our Valley streets?

MAG includes BRT in it’s Regional Transportation Plan,

and the City of Phoenix has already adopted the idea and is in the early stages of planning.

You might think that BRT is a good thing, but you would be wrong.

Bus Rapid Transit is light rail without the rails.

The Scottsdale City Council adopted the Transportation Action Plan (TAP) last April, and it also includes BRT.

While some City Council members claim that BRT is not in the plan, they are lying.

The plan is to take out car lanes and add dedicated bus lanes to Scottsdale Road from Thunderbird to Chandler.

We must tell the Scottsdale City Council to amend the TAP and remove the Bus Rapid Transit element.

CALL TO ACTION: contact the mayor and city council members.,
