CUTTING SPENDING IN FOUNTAIN HILLS – 2/21/2023 Town Council Meeting

HEADLINE:  CUTTING SPENDING IN FOUNTAIN HILLS

WHAT: Summary of February 21 Town Council Meeting

Spending almost $400,000 for design & engineering for a roundabout at Saguaro & Avenue of the Fountains was rejected.  Councilmembers Freidel, Kalivianakis, Skillicorn, & Toth voted to reject wasteful spending.

WHY:  Roundabouts are meant to help traffic flow but do not improve pedestrian safety.  That money can be used for needed town road maintenance.  That intersection was recently rebuilt/paved with an expected lifespan of up to 25 years – why tear  it up now?
