As your elected Representative and Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, I have strived for the conservative values that represent us. This year, the Republican House and Senate passed a very conservative budget for the state. Focused on the issues that matter most to us, we put families first and grew opportunities and freedoms for all. Join our battle to protect Arizona values and keep our government in check.

Here are some conservative wins in the budget.

• No increase in net ongoing spending (a first since 2017).

• $260M or 10% of one-time spending is going back to Arizona families in a tax rebate – led by the Freedom Caucus that I co-founded.

• 40% of our one-time spending is revitalizing Arizona transportation, enhancing public safety, and improving Arizona water infrastructure.

• $8.5B of state funds went to K-12 education, the most ever. However, I will be leading an effort to better track and audit every dollar spent on public education.

Though it was a battle with a democrat Governor, here is what this budget does not include:

• Does not cap, restrict, or repeal the ESA (school choice) program.

• Does not include funds for abortion providers.

• Does not have any restriction on school options.

• Does not include free tuition for ‘Dreamers’.

• Does not have funds for the Governor’s Election Task force which we don’t trust.

It’s not perfect, but we held the line on the most radical, leftist demands of Hobbs’s budget. Like you, I’m looking forward to these investments into public safety, school choice, and our infrastructure that will pay dividends in greater opportunities, enhanced freedoms, and safer communities.
